Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is famous Indian actress best known for her the roles she played in Hum Aapke Hai Koun. Her first fame was her 1980s role in Tezaab where she co-starred along with veteran actor Anil Koopor. Then, she starred alongside Aamir on Dil. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance at an early age. As a young woman when she began to act, she had a difficult time as a majority of her movies were unsuccessful. Eventually, she found success in Indian cinema and rose to the top. Following her marriage she had a break in her career before re-entering the film industry. She was recently a key player in Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit was nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award given to civilians in India was awarded to her. Her social work is also well-known.
